SWAT: The dispute between the families of martyred Haji Fazal Khaliq and martyred poet Attaullah Jan Advocate in Swat has come to an amicable end. With the efforts of Qami Tarron Jirga Babuzai Swat, a reconciliation was reached between the two parties.

Appreciating the efforts of the jirga elders, the locals have termed this development as an important step for peace and stability in the area. The dignitaries said on the occasion that mutual understanding, tolerance and the jirga system are the only guarantee of lasting peace.
The jirga was attended by Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam Khan, members of the provincial assembly Haji Abdul Moneem Khan and Muhammad Rashad Khan, Akhtar Khan, Fazal Hakeem, Amin Khan, former senator Rahat Hussain, Shah Jahan Bibi and other elected and former representatives, political and social figures, members of the Wali Swat family and welcomed this historic reconciliation.
A solemn ceremony to end the long-standing dispute and sign a peace agreement between the families of Shaheed Attaullah Jan Advocate and Shaheed Haji Fazal Khaliq was held at Wadudi Hall Saidu Sharif, in which Federal Minister and President Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam attended and addressed as the special guest.
The ceremony was attended by leaders from all schools of thought of Swat, Shangla and Buner, and representatives from both sides welcomed this historic occasion. On this occasion, both families placed their hands on the Holy Quran and announced the end of mutual enmity and pledged to live with brotherhood and friendship in the future.
In his address, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam thanked both sides and called this process a major step forward for peace and stability in the region.

He especially appreciated the hard work of Swat Qami Tarun Jirga Babuzai and all its members and congratulated them.
He said that the best solution to hostilities is reconciliation and understanding, and such jirgas promote peace, brotherhood and tolerance in society. He added that today the world is also moving towards dialogue and reconciliation to resolve conflicts, and Pakistan’s leadership, especially Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, are also playing a positive role in establishing peace in the region.
