The price of stroke injection increased up to Rs 10,0000 in private hospital as the life-saving medicine is no longer available in government hospital to deliver to patients who are facing medical emergency due to stroke.
The prices of other life-saving medicines and injections for various diseases have also increased continuously in Peshawar. The price of the important injection used for the immediate treatment of stroke has increased to an alarming level in Peshawar, due to which patients and their families are facing severe financial and mental stress.
The price of this life-saving medicine has increased to Rs 100,000, while its unavailability in government hospitals in the province has made the situation more serious. According to sources, the price of the injection used for the immediate treatment of stroke has increased by more than Rs 30,000 in recent days.
Currently, these injections of different companies are being sold in the market starting from Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 and on some occasions up to Rs 100,000, which are becoming out of reach of the common citizen.
On the other hand, the worrying thing is that this valuable injection is not available in government hospitals, due to which the emergency situation is getting worse. Patients have to turn to medical stores where they are forced to buy medicines at high prices because if a stroke patient does not get this injection on time, the risk of loss of life or permanent disability increases manifold.
In addition, the prices of other life-saving medicines and injections for various diseases are also being seen increased in Peshawar. The prices of important medicines have been reported to have increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 40,000, which has made treatment more difficult for the common citizen.
