RAWALPINDI: Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the opening T20 international match.
Speaking after the toss, Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan said the decision to bowl first would help the team assess the playing conditions before taking their turn at bat.
Farhan expressed confidence in his teammates and said he was optimistic about the team’s performance.
The Pakistan captain also emphasised his enjoyment of the game, saying that he enjoys cricket whether playing as captain or as an ordinary player.
Pakistan will look to make the most of the opportunity to bowl first, assess the pitch conditions and restrict Sri Lanka to a manageable total before beginning their chase.
