ISLAMABAD: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has introduced a new hybrid solar water heater for consumers, which can operate on solar energy as well as an electricity backup.
The company introduced the new system through a video shared on its social media platform X under the slogan, Now heat water the smart way.
According to SNGPL, the system allows users to heat water through electricity when weather conditions are unfavourable or sunlight is limited. The hybrid setup can use both solar energy and electricity for water heating.
The video showed that the water heater comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to control the temperature and heating remotely. The system has a storage capacity of 200 litres and can keep water hot for up to 24 hours.
SNGPL said the hybrid solar water heater is suitable for domestic consumers as well as hotels, restaurants, hospitals and laundries.
The company has set the price of the hybrid solar water heater at Rs128,893, with free shipping and installation. Consumers can also purchase the system through a 12-month interest-free instalment plan.
