SHANGLA: Six people were injured, when a jeep lost control and fell into a deep ravine in the Chakisar Landsok area of ​​Shangla district on Friday.

According to police and local sources, the incident took place when a jeep was going from Chakisar towards Landsok. According to initial reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle while taking a turn, after which the jeep fell down a hill and into a ravine. Due to the hilly and rough terrain, the vehicle overturned several times.

As soon as the accident was reported, Rescue 1122 Shangla teams immediately reached the spot. Rescue personnel rescued six injured people from the difficult mountain path and deep ravine. After providing first aid to all the injured, they were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Alpuri.

According to hospital sources, the condition of three of the injured is said to be critical, and they are considering referring them to Peshawar for further treatment. The remaining 3 injured are out of danger and are undergoing treatment. The identities of the injured have not been revealed yet.

Local people several time protested over the dilapidated condition of the road . They say that the Chakisar Landswick Road has been in poor condition for many years, and there are no safety walls on it. The citizens demanded that the government immediately repair the road and take safety measures so that such accidents can be prevented in the future.

The Chakisar police station has registered a report of the incident and started an investigation. Police say that the real cause of the accident could be speeding, brake failure, or road damage. After the accident, instructions have been given to drive carefully on the relevant road.

An increase in traffic accidents has been seen in the mountainous areas of Shangla during the summer. The district administration has appealed to drivers to reduce speed on mountain roads and travel after a thorough check of the vehicle.
