KARACHI: Sindh government on Sunday decided to broadcast the football World Cup final matches on big screens across the province to allow supporters to watch the matches live.

In this connection, Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar said that big screens would be installed in various divisions and districts for this purpose, adding matches would be screened at Malir’s Sharafi Football Ground in Karachi on 15, 16 and 20 July respectively.

Apart from that. Big screens would also be set up in Malir, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas. In Sukkur, matches would be shown at the Municipal Stadium and Rohri Football Ground.

Likewise, the FIFA World Cup-2026 final matches would also be screened at sports complexes in Ghotki and Thatta, providing fans with public viewing facilities across Sindh. The initiative aims to provide football enthusiasts across Sindh with an opportunity to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere together at public venues.

Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup has reached its final stages with the world’s top four ranked teams advancing to the semi-finals for the first time. Spain, Argentina, France and England all topped their respective groups before progressing through the knockout rounds. FIFA’s revised draw format for the 2026 World Cup placed the four highest-ranked teams in separate sections of the bracket, preventing them from meeting before the semi-finals.
