ISLAMABAD: Sher Afzal Marwat, a Member of the National Assembly has asserted that Aleema Khan, the sister of the PTI founder ousted Omar Ayub to promote lawyer Salman Akram Raja to the party’s leadership.

During a talk show on Hum News news channel, Marwat said that than resolving administrative problems the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership appointed individuals of their own preference. He claimed that PTI no longer possesses the strength to organize protests.

He mentioned that there was a period when the government promptly dealt with PTI every time the party demonstrated. Currently the circumstances have entirely shifted.

Sher Afzal Marwat further said that Aleema Khan not only excluded Omar Ayub but also marginalized Shibli Faraz.

Commenting on the situation outside Adiala Jail, he said that many people gather there only to appear in photographs.

Marwat urges KP CM to avoid confrontation, follow law and wisdom

Earlier on October 27, Sher Afzal Marwat, a Member National Assembly (MNA), has openly expressed his grave anxiety regarding the political scenario in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Marwat urged the PTI leadership to choose a way of wisdom and law instead of confronting the state.

Through social media, MNA Marwat commented that the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has very recently taken a regrettable turn, with almost no space left for reconciliation. He condemned the actions of some federal ministers who, he said, constantly mocked and accused KP Chief Minister-designate Sohail Afridi immediately after his nomination, thereby heating the political atmosphere.

Marwat reaffirmed that such confrontational politics are to no one’s, including that of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s, interest nor the advantage of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s future.

He reaffirmed that PTI must work in the legal and constitutional orbit and contended that harshness and confrontation always lead to loss and retreat, never to victory.

Marwat also mentioned that if PTI desires to remain active and continue contributing, it must protect and maintain the KP government, termed it as the confidence of the people and a major support of the political life of the party.

Marwat, in his final words, mentioned that now is the time for caution, wisdom, and even-tempered decision-making, and urged that a door that can be opened today by talks may not open tomorrow, even by force.
