PESHAWAR: Samsung Rolls Out Android 17-Based One UI 9 to Galaxy S24, Fold 6 and Flip 6 in the US. Samsung has started rolling out its One UI 9 update based on Android 17 to older Galaxy devices in the United States, bringing new Galaxy AI features, privacy enhancements, and interface improvements.
According to a 9to5Google report published on October 12, the update is now available for the Galaxy S24 series, including the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The rollout was first launched in South Korea and is now expanding to the US, with more markets expected to receive it in the coming days. Samsung’s newer Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra launched with One UI 9 pre-installed, while the Galaxy S26 series received the update in September.
The Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are also expected to get the update soon. One UI 9 introduces several new features, including My FanCam, which automatically tracks and reframes subjects in videos; an updated Now Brief with generative and editable cards; additional Galaxy AI tools such as Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder; a new Warranty and Care section in Settings; and enhanced privacy tools including Security Brief, Privacy Alerts and Scam Detection.
The update is being rolled out in phases, so availability may vary by model, carrier, and region. Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 users can check by going to Settings, then Software update, and tapping Download and install.
