ISLAMABAD: Senior analyst and columnist Hafeez Ullah Niazi has strongly criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) social media team when talking on a private news channel talk show on Wednesday.

He pointed out that the main problem of PTI’s social media brigade is not ideology, but financial interest.

According to him, the reason for this is that in the case of getting more views, they get direct financial benefits. He added that this can be estimated from how profitable this activity has become.

Speaking on the programme “Head On” aired on 365 News on Wednesday, Niazi said the PTI social media brigade gets direct financial benefits from higher viewership.

‘PTI’s social media team is doing more harm’
According to Niazi, PTI founder Imran Khan believed he could use the party’s social media to control his harsh narrative.

However, he claimed that the situation has gone to a point where the party’s social media is no longer fully under Imran Khan’s control.

Niazi further stated that if this group wants to defame a party leader, it skillfully runs a campaign and puts the entire PTI following behind it.

He cited the recent use of derogatory language against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as an example.

The analyst also said that Harsh language, false allegations, and abuse against the establishment and state institutions are beneficial for the social media team.

This is because they get financial benefits from this behaviour, according to him.

Adding more, Niazi warned that when in the future when history is analyzed, PTI’s own social media team will emerge as one of the most damaging things for Imran Khan.
