LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi secured another victory by defeating Karachi Kings by 7 wickets in the 32nd match of the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League.

The match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore saw Peshawar Zalmi successfully chase down the target of 183 runs set by Karachi Kings, finishing at 185 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 18.5 overs.

Kaushal Mendis was instrumental in Zalmi’s triumph, scoring a match-winning 80 runs. Farhan Yousuf also contributed significantly, remaining not out with 58 runs. Captain Babar Azam scored 25 runs, while James Vince added 16 runs. Aaron Hardy managed to score only 5 runs before being dismissed.

On the bowling front for Karachi Kings, Hassan Ali, Khushdil Shah, and Abbas Afridi each took one wicket, but their efforts were not enough to prevent the team from losing.

Earlier, Karachi Kings batted first and put up a total of 182 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted overs. Opener Jason Roy delivered an impressive performance with 85 runs, which included 11 fours and 2 sixes, but his efforts went in vain. Azam Khan scored a resilient 35 runs, but it couldn’t save the team as captain David Warner fell early, scoring just 11 runs.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Basit Ali, Aaron Hardy, and Iftikhar Ahmed were effective with the ball, each claiming one wicket. Other notable performances from Karachi Kings included Reza Hendricks, who scored 13 runs, and Salman Ali Agha, who managed 12 runs before being dismissed.
