Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will pay an official visit to China from May 23 to 26.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson said that Pakistan-China relations have strengthened over time, while China’s unwavering support for Pakistan continues.

He said that official ceremonies were held in both countries to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship and that in the last 75 years, both countries have supported each other in every difficult time.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson said that Pakistan and China have a strong partnership in the fields of trade, industry, education and people-to-people contacts. He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also attend a reception ceremony in Beijing during his visit to China.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan is also playing a positive role in ending tensions in the Middle East, while the Deputy Prime Minister is in contact with various world leaders.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan condemns the drone attacks on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He also said that there was a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Emir of Qatar.
