QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday chaired a meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP) Provincial Apex Committee in Quetta to review the security situation in Balochistan and discuss measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the province.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and senior officials from law enforcement and security agencies.

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and the Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah also participated in the session.

According to officials, the committee is reviewing the overall law and order situation in Balochistan and is expected to make key decisions aimed at strengthening security and addressing ongoing challenges in the province.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Quetta on a one-day visit. He was received at the airport by Governor Mandokhail, Chief Minister Bugti, and senior civil and military officials.

The prime minister was accompanied by Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, and Rana Sanaullah during the visit.
