The Peshawar High Court heard the petitions of 12 Afghan refugees against deportation, during which the court temporarily stayed the deportation of the petitioners.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case, seeking a response from the SAFRON Ministry within 14 days. On this occasion, the response was submitted to the court by the FIA. During the hearing, the Additional Attorney General appeared in the court and sought time to submit a response on behalf of the SAFRON Ministry, which was accepted by the court.

The petitioners’ lawyer told the court that all Afghan citizens are residing in the Khorasan camp and have approached the UNHCR for residence. According to the lawyer, the petitioners’ appeals are currently pending with the UNHCR. The lawyer requested that the petitioners not be deported until the final decision, to which the court granted interim relief and issued an order to stop the deportation.
