PESHAWAR: A 28-year-old staff nurse was found dead inside her residence in Peshawar’s Hayatabad neighbourhood on Wednesday in an apparent suicide, local police reported.

According to law enforcement authorities, the incident occurred on the afternoon of August 13. The victim allegedly ended her life by hanging from a ceiling fan at her home.

Police teams rushed to the scene, took the body into custody and transferred it to the Khyber Medical College (KMC) for post-mortem examination and required legal formalities.

The deceased was actively serving as a staff nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC).

Nursing Supervisor Moaz Khan stated that the exact motive behind the tragic incident remains unknown. Family members have not yet shared a definitive reason, though authorities are looking into potential personal or domestic issues as preliminary possibilities.

Meanwhile, hospital administration officials confirmed that preliminary information indicates no institutional or workplace connection to the tragedy. Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death, with final conclusions pending the outcome of the formal inquiry.
