PESHAWAR: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has increased fees for various examinations, certificates and other services by 148 per cent.
As per media reports, under the revised fee structure, the fee for verification of a DMC or original certificate has been increased from Rs805 to Rs2,000, marking a 148 per cent increase. The fee for a duplicate DMC has been raised from Rs805 to Rs1,500, while the registration fee has increased from Rs700 to Rs1,300.
The examination fee for Grade 9 has been increased from Rs2,530 to Rs3,000, while the Grade 10 fee has risen from Rs2,990 to Rs3,200. The fee for first-year students has been increased from Rs2,875 to Rs3,300, and that for second-year students from Rs3,105 to Rs3,600.
Similarly, the fee for SSC improvement has been raised from Rs2,700 to Rs3,600, while the HSSC improvement fee has increased from Rs2,800 to Rs4,000.
The board has also increased the fee for grace marks from Rs345 to Rs600. The sports fee for first-year students has been revised from Rs200 to Rs350. The revised fee structure means students seeking various examination-related services from BISE Peshawar will now have to pay higher charges than before.
