ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan U19 cricket team, after lifting the Asia Cup, has taken a flight to Zimbabwe to participate in the U19 World Cup. The team departed from Islamabad Airport en route to Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, where the competitions are to take place.
Farhan Yusuf’s squad encountered a warm reception as the cricket board’s chairman Mohsin Naqvi met them at the airport and offered his personal good luck to the players and staff during their stay.
The U19 squad will be making a stopover in Dubai during the flight from Islamabad to Zimbabwe. Apart from the 15 players in the squad, the team management will also be on board the same flight ensuring that the players have full support during the tour.
The three-nation series will start on December 25 and then the Pakistan U19’s first match in the ICC U19 World Cup will be on December 27.
PCB officials have shown confidence in the team’s readiness, there are reports that the players are very determined and self-assured in front of the challenges in Zimbabwe. The team management is positive about their performance and is looking forward to the series and the World Cup with high hopes for their being strong in the past.

Earlier, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF, met the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, on Monday.
During the meeting, the Field Marshal warmly congratulated the players, team management, and officials on their outstanding performance and historic triumph in winning the Asia Cup Men’s U-19. He lauded the team’s discipline, teamwork, and fighting spirit, terming their success a matter of great pride for the nation.
The Field Marshal appreciated the dedication and hard work of the young cricketers, emphasising that their achievement reflects the immense talent and potential of Pakistan’s youth. He encouraged the players to continue striving for excellence, maintain high standards of professionalism, and serve as ambassadors of the country on and off the field.
The Field Marshal underscored that Pakistan’s youth are the cornerstone of the nation’s future, whose energy, talent, and character will shape its progress and global standing. He reaffirmed his unwavering belief in empowering young Pakistanis to excel in diverse fields and contribute positively to national development through discipline, integrity, and dedication.
