ISLAMABAD: Afghan media reports claimed that Pakistani security forces carried out airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Paktika province, targeting terrorist hideouts and infrastructure.
The strikes hit sites which banned militant groups used to conduct their activities according to the reports. Intelligence reports showed that warplanes bombed particular shelters located in border areas which contained militants.
Analysts state that the operation occurred because terrorists recently attacked security forces in Pakistan through their Bajaur and Bannu assaults. The move reflects growing concerns over security along the border regions which remain sensitive.

Afghan media reports claimed that airstrikes have targeted and destroyed terrorist facilities in the eastern provinces of Paktika, Paktia, Khost, and Nangarhar.
The operation resulted in the death of more than ten militants while the military destroyed several militant hideouts. The strikes specifically targeted strongholds that extremist groups used throughout the region.
Some reports suggest that key commanders were among those eliminated, though official confirmation is still pending. The Afghan authorities will announce more details about the situation once they acquire new information.
The eastern Afghan airstrikes target rising militant activity which creates persistent security problems for the region.
