Pakistan has received its second liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from Qatar this month, with the LNG carrier Shandong Redwood berthing at the Pakistan GasPort Limited (PGPL) terminal on Wednesday morning after sailing from Qatar.
The cargo has been supplied under a long-term LNG agreement, with its price linked to 13.37 per cent of the Brent crude oil price.
Pakistan had contacted Iran to facilitate the safe passage of the LNG cargo. The arrival of the shipment is also expected to provide some relief to the power sector.
The LNG supply route through the Strait of Hormuz continues to remain important for Pakistan, given its role in facilitating energy supplies to the country.
