The Chinese military and Khunjerab Security Police (KSP) of the Gilgit-Baltistan Police have conducted joint border exercises for the first time at Mintika Pass along the Pakistan-China border, at an altitude of around 4,600 metres above sea level.
KSP personnel travelled through difficult mountainous terrain for two consecutive days to reach the Mintika border point, where they participated in the joint exercises with Chinese forces.
The exercises aimed to enhance coordination, professional skills and operational capabilities related to border security in high-altitude and challenging border areas.
During the activity, the Chinese military hosted a reception for KSP personnel. Various weapons and defence equipment were also displayed, while gifts were presented to the police personnel as a gesture of goodwill and to promote friendly ties between the two sides.
The joint activity reflects continued cooperation and professional engagement between the security institutions of Pakistan and China, as well as the friendly relations between the two countries.
