ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army has announced a new recruitment drive for 2026, offering vacancies in a range of categories including soldiers, clerks, drivers, cooks and other positions.
Registration for the recruitment is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026, with eligible candidates able to apply online or visit designated Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs), depending on the position.

Eligibility Criteria
The educational requirements vary depending on the position.
Candidates applying for Naib Khateeb must have completed Dars-e-Nizami from an HEC-certified religious institution, along with FA, FSc or an equivalent qualification. Additional qualifications in Arabic, Qira’at and Hifz may also be considered.
For General Duty Soldier, applicants generally need to have passed Matric. Certain candidates, including those from specified areas and eligible children of martyrs, may qualify with Middle-level education under applicable relaxations.
Applicants for Technical Soldier positions must have passed Matric with Science and obtained at least a B grade. Candidates with higher qualifications may be given preference.
For the Soldier Driver category, a minimum Matric qualification is required, while candidates holding a valid driving licence may receive preference.
Candidates applying for Military Police must have passed Matric and meet the prescribed physical requirements.
For Clerk positions, applicants need Intermediate with at least a C grade. Computer proficiency and higher qualifications may provide an advantage. Candidates from Balochistan, the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may apply with an Intermediate D grade under the specified relaxation.
Applicants for Cook positions should have passed Middle, while relevant cooking experience may be preferred. For Sanitary Worker, literate candidates are eligible, subject to the requirements specified in the recruitment advertisement.
Pakistan Army Jobs 2026 Age Limit
The age limit differs according to the position and will generally be calculated as of November 24, 2026.
Naib Khateeb: 20 to 28 years
General Duty Soldier: 17½ to 23 years
Technical Soldier: 17½ to 23 years
Soldier Driver: 17½ to 23 years
Military Police: 17½ to 23 years
Clerk: 17½ to 23 years
Cook: 17½ to 23 years
Sanitary Worker: 17½ to 35 years
Serving Army personnel applying for Naib Khateeb positions may be eligible between the ages of 22 and 35, subject to the prescribed service requirements.
Additional age relaxation may apply to certain candidates based on their qualifications, region and other applicable conditions. Graduates and candidates with higher qualifications may receive one year of relaxation, while eligible applicants from Balochistan and the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may receive up to three years.
Physical Requirements
Applicants must also meet the prescribed height standards, which vary by position:
Naib Khateeb: 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm)
General Duty Soldier: 5 feet 6 inches (167.5 cm)
Technical Soldier: 5 feet 6 inches (167.5 cm)
Soldier Driver: 5 feet 6 inches (167.5 cm)
Military Police: 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm)
Clerk: 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm)
Cook: 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm)
Sanitary Worker: 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm)
Candidates from Balochistan, the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may qualify for a two-inch height relaxation where applicable. However, this concession does not apply to Clerks, Military Police, Cooks and Sanitary Workers.
Documents Required
Applicants are required to bring their original documents along with the necessary copies. These generally include:
Educational certificates and two attested photocopies
Four passport-size photographs
Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
Domicile certificate
State Subject Certificate for applicants from Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Relevant documents supporting claims for age, educational or height relaxation
How to Apply for Pakistan Army Jobs 2026
Registration will begin on September 1, 2026. Candidates can apply through the official Pakistan Army recruitment portal or visit their nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centre or relevant Regimental Centre.
The main registration period runs until November 23, 2026, although deadlines may differ depending on the category. According to the recruitment schedule, online registration for soldier categories will remain open until November 16, 2026, while in-person registration may continue until November 23.
Candidates applying for the Naib Khateeb position are required to submit the prescribed application form through the designated Army Selection and Recruitment Centre.
Selection Process
After registration, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete the relevant tests and other stages of the Army recruitment process according to their selected category.
