Brave officer of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Group Captain Asim Martyred when he was rescuing a women in the jurisdiction of Islamabad on Sunday. Group Captain Asim was passing through 9th Avenue when he saw a woman getting off a motorcycle, whose hand was being pulled by the motorcyclist there.
Group Captain Asim, being a responsible citizen, turned back and stopped near the motorcycle, on which the girl ran to the other side of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the alleged accused Saad started abusing Group Captain Asim and opened fire on him within moments.
Group Captain Asim succumbed to his injuries and died, while the accused fled the scene. According to the police, the woman has told that the accused was her office colleague, who had offered to take her to work with him.
However, he wanted to change the route to take her somewhere else. Group Captain Asim intervened in time and saved me, the women identified as Nimra told the police. Soon after the incident, law enforcement agencies launched operations to arrest the accused.
The brave Group Captain Asim Shaheed leaves behind a widow, daughter and son among the mourners. His sacrifice is being paid tribute to across the country. He is being remembered on national and social media as a brave officer who sacrificed his life for the protection of women.
Group Captain Asim’s sacrifice is a reflection of the fact that the soldiers are not only the guardians of borders but also of honor.
