PESHAWAR: New working hours have been established for employees, alongside heavy fines for latecomers.

According to officials, the administration of Hayatabad Medical Complex has issued a notification implementing new working hours and strict attendance rules for hospital staff, in line with the directives of the MTI Policy Board.

The notification states that the hospital’s duty hours will be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the new schedule in effect five days a week, Monday to Friday. Separate working hours for morning, evening, and night shifts have also been outlined.

In an effort to maintain discipline, the administration has tightened the attendance system, making biometric and RFID attendance mandatory for all employees.

Employees will face financial penalties for tardiness: if an employee is late three times, one day’s salary will be deducted; if late by one hour, half a day’s salary will be deducted; and if late by three hours, a full day’s salary will be deducted.

The notification also stresses that strict departmental actions will be taken against absenteeism or repeated lateness. Employees assigned to rotation duty are required to adhere strictly to the duty roster.

Moreover, any overtime for employees will only be permitted with approval from the competent authority.

The hospital administration says that these measures aim to ensure the timely provision of medical services to patients and consistent attendance by staff.
