ISLAMABAD: New operating hours for markets and commercial establishments have come into effect in Islamabad from June 1, following a notification issued by the district administration.

According to the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, all shopping complexes and markets shall close down at 8:00 p.m.

The operating timings for restaurants, general shops, and bakeries have been extended and they would be permitted to run until 10:00 p.m.

These revised timings came into force since June 1 and have been designed to regulate commercial activities in the federal capital. They must be strictly followed by businessmen and traders.

The District administration has specified that these new timings would apply to all commercial places within the jurisdiction of Islamabad. More information about the enforcement will be provided later.

This announcement means a complete change of business hours in markets in the federal capital city. The retailers and customers need time to get used to the new closing hours.
