Netflix has released a new crime thriller based on the dramatic arrest of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán, with the film quickly generating significant buzz among viewers worldwide.

According to media reports, the film, titled Facing El Chapo and known as La Captura in Spanish, revolves around the 2016 operation that led to the arrest of Guzmán, the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.

The thriller tells the story from the perspective of two senior police officers who were involved in capturing Guzmán after he attempted to evade authorities.

The officers were patrolling the Mexican city of Los Mochis when they stopped a stolen vehicle. One of the occupants was identified as Guzmán, who was then serving as the head of the Sinaloa Cartel.

The film also focuses on the tense hours following his capture, as the two officers wait for additional security personnel to arrive while keeping the high-profile suspect in custody.

The gripping portrayal of the operation and the events surrounding Guzmán’s arrest has drawn considerable attention since the film’s release.
