PESHAWAR: To make public services easier and facilitate businesses and tourists, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) and Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to digitise official records and administrative procedures.
Under the agreement, KDA’s records and administrative processes will be digitised, while an online platform will be developed to facilitate regulatory approvals and the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs). The initiative will also introduce a QR code-based digital payment system for businesses and service providers operating in Naran and the Kaghan Valley. Businesses will be able to submit applications, pay fees, provide feedback and track the progress of their applications online.
KPITB will further develop a dedicated mobile application, “Kaghan,” offering information on accommodation, maps, emergency alerts and other essential facilities for visitors. The MoU was signed by KPITB Managing Director Dr Akif Khan and KDA Director General Shiraz Khan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Minister for Information, Science and Information Technology Shafi Jan said the initiative would improve efficiency, transparency and accountability while reducing the time and resources required for official procedures.
He said the provincial government was working to expand technology-based public services, particularly at tourist destinations, to make them more accessible and convenient for citizens, businesses and visitors.
