ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued updated guidelines for citizens seeking to change their present or permanent address on their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).
According to the new instructions, applicants wishing to update their temporary or permanent address must provide at least one supporting document. Acceptable documents include a tenancy agreement, property registry or allotment letter, a utility bill, or the CNIC of a blood relative or spouse bearing the same address.
NADRA clarified that the address of a married sister cannot be used as proof for address verification.
For changes to a permanent address, applicants are required to submit property ownership documents, a utility bill, or a domicile certificate issued in the name of the applicant, their parents, or their spouse.
The authority has advised citizens to visit their nearest NADRA Registration Centre or use the Pak ID mobile application to submit requests for updating their address details.
The revised guidelines are intended to streamline the address verification process and ensure accurate maintenance of citizens’ identity records.
