ISLAMABAD: A major operation has been carried out to clear the federal capital of encroachments and restore green belts, which was directly supervised by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chairman CDA.

During this operation, the Frontier Constabulary (FC) camp office established on the green belt near Marriott Hotel and Ayub Chowk was demolished.

Talking to the media on the occasion of the operation, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi clarified that action will continue without discrimination to restore the beauty and master plan of Islamabad. He said that the law is equal for all and no government or private institution will be allowed to construct or occupy government land, especially green belts.

Mohsin Naqvi added that the FC is an important security institution, therefore, in place of the demolished camp office, the institution will be provided with an alternative legal place so that its administrative affairs are not affected. The CDA Chairman reiterated his resolve that the campaign against encroachments on footpaths and public walkways in other areas of the city will be taken to its logical conclusion so that citizens can move easily and the original map of the city can be restored.
