The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to replace the number plates of all vehicles across the province and introduce Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) stickers.
According to the Excise Department, the new number plates will be fitted with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) stickers. The decision will apply to both government and private vehicles.
Officials said the current number plates are provided by the provincial government for Rs 1,200. The new RFID-sticker number plates will cost Rs 4,000. The department stated that the RFID stickers will help in vehicle identification and tracking.
The system is aimed at improving security, preventing theft, and making it easier to monitor vehicles across the province. The Excise Department will soon announce the schedule and procedure for the replacement of the existing plates.
