PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has declared the policy of transferring employees before the completion of their two-year tenure illegal.

The Education Secretary has immediately suspended the transfer orders issued by the Education Directorate. According to a statement by the Education Department, the Education Secretary has cancelled the orders of the Directorate of Education on the appeal of the employees and provided immediate relief to all the affected teachers and other educational staff.

The statement said that the department has also withdrawn the order of transfers of other employees, including senior clerks. According to the department, these transfers were made under the two-year tenure policy and administrative matters.

According to sources, the affected employees had approached the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Service Tribunal against the transfers. The Appellate Authority, while pronouncing its decision after hearing the case, declared the transfers against the policy.

In light of the decision, the Education Secretary has issued orders to immediately withdraw the transfers of all employees. A spokesperson for the education department said that in the future, no employee will be transferred before the completion of a two-year term, except on administrative grounds or at the personal request of the employee.

Teachers and clerical staff across the province have expressed satisfaction after the decision. Employees say that the education system was being affected by premature transfers, and now the implementation of the policy will bring stability.
