South Africa defeats India by four wickets in 2nd one-day international match and achieves the target of 359 over the losses six wickets.
In the second ODI, South Africa defeated India by 4 wickets to level the 3-match series 1-1. In the second ODI of the 3-match ODI series played in Raipur, the Indian team, batting first at the invitation of South Africa, scored 358 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. In response, the South African team achieved the target of 359 runs in 49.2 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
The Indian heroes lost even after scoring 358 runs, even the centuries of Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad were of no use. South Africa achieved the mountain-like target in the last over and won the second ODI by 4 wickets. India’s batting Ruturaj Gaikwad and Virat Kohli stood out for India by scoring 105 and 102 runs respectively. Captain KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja returned to the pavilion after playing an unbeaten innings of 66 and 24 runs.
In addition, Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for 28, Rohit Sharma for 14 and Washington Sundar for one run. For the visiting team, Aiden Markram played a brilliant innings of 110 runs to help them achieve the big target easily. Matthew Bretzke stood out by scoring 68 and Dewald Brewis by scoring 54 runs. Captain Timba Bavuma returned to the pavilion after scoring 46 runs.
For India, Prasad Krishna and Arshaddeep Singh took two wickets each, and Harshit Rana took one wicket. It should be noted that India defeated South Africa by 17 runs in the first match.
