ISLAMABAD: As many as 138,158 candidates will appear in the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, which is scheduled to be held tomorrow (Sunday) September 20 across the country.
In this connection, the PM&DC has already finalised all arrangements for the test to be held at 34 cities and towns in Pakistan and an international center at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. According to details, Punjab has the highest number of candidates at 49,198, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 38,841.
Likewise, Sindh with 34,232. Balochistan has 9,923 candidates, while 5,964 candidates are registered through SZABMU for Islamabad, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and the Riyadh centre. The test will be conducted by designated universities, including UHS Lahore for Punjab, KMU Peshawar for KP, Sukkur IBA University for Sindh and BUMHS Quetta for Balochistan. SZABMU Islamabad will handle the test for ICT, AJK, GB and Riyadh.
PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj reviewed final arrangements with university vice chancellors and relevant health authorities. The meeting discussed examination centres, security, candidate facilitation and emergency arrangements.
The MDCAT is a mandatory admission test for students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges in Pakistan. Candidates must qualify the test to be considered for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes.
