ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has raised kerosene oil prices by Rs 39.20 per litre according to an official notification. The new pricing for kerosene after the price increase stands at Rs 358.01 per litre.
The government has also decided to maintain the petroleum levy on Petrol and Diesel. The petrol levy will continue at Rs 105.37 per litre while the diesel levy will remain at Rs 55.24 per litre.
The government plans to sustain current petrol and diesel rates through a temporary Rs 23 billion subsidy according to officials. The subsidy will apply from March 14 to March 20 to help control fuel prices.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the subsidy will be paid to oil marketing companies under price differential claims to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a decision to maintain current petroleum prices, providing significant relief to the public currently grappling with high inflation.
The Prime Minister said that the move is intended to alleviate the financial burden on the common man, stating that the government remains determined to offer maximum relief despite challenging economic circumstances.
