BANNU: JUI-F Sub-Division Amir Malik Zai Ali Rehman was killed in firing by unidentified armed men in the Dreoba area of Tehsil Sub-Division.
According to sources, Malik Zai Ali Rehman was the Amir of JUI Sub-Division Wazir Dreoba and died on the spot as a result of firing by unknown individuals. After the incident, the attackers fled. Police reached the site upon receiving information and cordoned off the area, starting to collect evidence.
According to police, the search for those involved in the incident is underway, while further investigations are being carried out to determine the motives behind the firing.
Dreoba lies in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that has faced repeated incidents of targeted violence in recent years. Bannu and adjoining districts have seen attacks on political and religious figures, often linked to militancy, local disputes, and security challenges in the former tribal areas.
JUI-F holds considerable influence in Bannu and Wazir, where local leaders like Malik Zai Ali Rehman play an active role in community affairs and party mobilization. The killing has added to concerns about security for political workers in KP, especially ahead of major party activities.
