The price of jet fuel has been reduced sharply, airline fares in the country are likely to be reduced.

According to aviation sources, the price of jet fuel for commercial aircraft has been reduced by Rs 48.80 per liter to Rs 283.52 per litre. Sources said that the overall price of jet fuel has come down to Rs 283 so far.

Jet fuel was Rs 188 a liter on February 28 before the war in the Middle East. It may be recalled that the government had reduced the prices of petrol and diesel for a week.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister House said that it has been decided to reduce the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 22.22 per litre.
