TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has vowed to defend every inch of Iran’s territory in response to the threats from United States President Donald Trump.

In a televised address, President Pezeshkian criticized Trump’s rhetoric, questioning whether the United States had achieved its objectives through military pressure.

“Has Trump achieved his goals on the battlefield?” the Iranian president asked. “Those who sought to divide Iran should explain what they have ultimately achieved.”

He reaffirmed Tehran’s resolve to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, saying, “We will defend every inch of our homeland through our actions.”

Separately, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Commission, said the country’s adversaries had effectively entered into open conflict by violating all provisions of the existing memorandum of understanding.

“The enemy has formally entered the war after violating every clause of the memorandum of understanding. There is no longer any memorandum in effect,” Rezaei said.

Meanwhile, Iran’s parliament approved a Strategic Action Plan for the Security and Sustainable Development of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route, amid heightened regional tensions.
