ISLAMABAD: The contempt of court petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding PTI founder Imran Khan’s hospital transfer was allotted a number after objections were removed.
The Supreme Court Registrar’s Office has allotted a number to PTI’s contempt of court petition on the issue of transferring PTI founder to a private hospital. Earlier, an objection was raised against the petition for not sending a list of charges to the perpetrators of the contempt, on which Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar removed the objections by submitting the list to the Registrar’s Office.
On the other hand, petitioner Uzma Khan also filed a miscellaneous petition for early hearing of the petition. According to the petition, justice demands that the case be fixed as soon as possible. It is requested that the case be fixed during the same week.
Earlier, Barrister Gohar said that a meeting was held with the Registrar, Supreme Court, at the facilitation Center. The Registrar’s Office objected to our petition. It was objected that the list of charges was not sent to the perpetrators of the insult.
Chairman PTI said that we will remove the objection today and re-file it. Our petition will be allotted a number today. Tomorrow is a holiday, so we will try to have the hearing the day after tomorrow. It should be remembered that PTI has filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court on the issue of transferring PTI founder Imran Khan from jail to hospital.
The petition has sought contempt of court action for not shifting the PTI founder to the hospital despite court orders. It has been requested to declare the respondents guilty of contempt of court and punish them according to law, while it has been requested to immediately shift the PTI founder to Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad.
The Prime Minister has also been made a party in the contempt of court petition. In addition, the Federal Minister for Law and Information, the Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, and the IG Prisons have also been made parties. It has been requested to take contempt of court action against the parties.
