ISLAMABAD: Pakistani citizens seeking employment visas for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will now be required to submit a police clearance or good conduct certificate as part of their visa application process.
According to the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment, the UAE has made a police character certificate mandatory for Pakistani nationals applying for employment visas. The new requirement came into effect on July 20, 2026.
Under the revised procedure, applicants seeking employment in the UAE must obtain a police character certificate from the relevant authority in Pakistan. The certificate must then be attested by the UAE Embassy before it can be submitted with the visa application.
Authorities have advised prospective job seekers to ensure that all required documents are completed before submitting their visa applications. Obtaining and attesting the police clearance certificate in advance can help applicants avoid unnecessary delays or complications during the visa process.
The Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment has also directed licensed overseas employment promoters to ensure full compliance with the new documentation requirement.
Officials stressed that timely completion of visa and travel documents is essential for Pakistani citizens travelling abroad for employment. Job seekers have therefore been advised to factor in the police character certificate and its attestation when preparing their documents for UAE employment visas.
