KARACHI: Pakistan Women’s cricket team produced a dominating performance in the second One Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe Women, securing a historic 206-run victory at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The win gave Pakistan a series-clinching 2-0 lead.

The batting side was Pakistan ladies who piled up 343 for 4 in 50 overs after opting to bat. Their top-order batsmen, including opener Gul Feroza and Sadaf Shams, contributed with an unbeaten 189-run opening stand for the first wicket. Feroza and Shams scored 100 runs and 101 not out, respectively. Sadra Amin played a vital role by contributing 59 not out towards the huge total.

Zimbabwe’s batting lineup could only manage 137 in reply, which became easier for them to achieve with the disciplined bowling display by Pakistan ladies. Pasi Pnodiya and Mateng Wando scored 33 runs and 29 runs for the visitors’ team. Fatima Sana scalped three wickets for her team, while Aroob Shah, Momena Riyasat, and Ramin Shamim bagged two wickets apiece.

The 206-run margin marks Pakistan Women’s largest victory in ODI history in terms of runs. Pakistan had also won the first ODI of the series convincingly, defeating Zimbabwe by 168 runs.

This comprehensive performance underlines Pakistan Women’s growing dominance in international cricket, with the team now aiming to maintain momentum for upcoming fixtures.
