ISLAMABAD: More than 107,000 prospective pilgrims have completed their registration for Hajj through Pakistan’s online registration system, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said as the registration process continues.
As per ministry officials, a total of 107,587 applicants have already registered themselves from their homes using the online portal. Out of these, 85,000 applicants have preferred the government Hajj scheme while 22,000 have chosen the private Hajj scheme.
The ministry said that the online registration process is continuing for some more days and further applicants can register themselves through the online portal.
The provincial data revealed that Punjab has the highest numbers of registrations with approximately 51,000 applicants registered. Sindh came second with 33,000 applicants. 15,000 applicants were registered from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,500 applicants from Islamabad, 2,000 applicants from Balochistan, 600 from Azad Jammu & Kashmir while only 2 applicants were registered from Gilgit-Baltistan.
Out of the registered pilgrims, 63,000 are male while 44,000 are female.
The ministry further added that out of these applicants, 56,000 applicants prefer the long Hajj package while 51,000 have chosen the short package.
The ministry urged intending pilgrims to register themselves as soon as possible within the required period.
