PESHAWAR: A groom in Peshawar was arrested after he sparked panic during his wedding ceremony by engaging in excessive fireworks and firing a weapon. The incident happened in Bhana Maari where locals got scared owing to the activities carried out by the groom on his marriage day.
As per the report, the accused groom, who is a resident of Kotla Mohsin Khan, was seen firing and showing off weapons along with indulging himself in fireworks at his marriage. He put the local residents to fear and caused an insecure environment in the vicinity where women and children felt scared due to such acts.
The eyewitnesses said that this act of firing could have caused some misfortune but luckily it did not happen as people are killed now and then when people fire guns randomly. However, the police were quick in their action and arrested the groom on the spot.
A case has been registered against the accused groom while an investigation into the matter has also started. Law enforcers have clearly mentioned that no such act would be tolerated from now onwards.
Bride arrested for firing during wedding ceremony, groom flees
On March 27, in a strange incident, a bride was arrested by the police for firing a weapon during the wedding ceremony, while the groom escaped from the scene. The incident occurred in the Mandrah area, where a video of the bride firing a gun during the wedding surfaced, after which the police took immediate action.
According to police reports, the bride was detained after the popularity of the wedding video of the bride, as she was seen wearing a wedding gown in the video. Authorities charged her with public firearm discharge at a public gathering. The police discovered a .30-bore pistol which belonged to the bride during their investigation.

When police officers arrived at the location, they found the bride present but her husband Shahryar Ali had already escaped the area. ASI Wasim Akhtar is conducting an investigation after officers reported the situation to him.
In recent weeks, the country has experienced multiple strange wedding incidents which have drawn attention toward the unusual things that happen during wedding festivities.
The police are still searching for the groom, Shahryar Ali. The investigation to locate him is in progress. The authorities are also investigating the circumstances that led to the firing incident and how the gun was taken to the wedding.
