ISLAMABAD (Azmatullah): The federal government has unveiled measures to strengthen exports and support the Industrial sector to boost the country’s economy.
In an important meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif regarding the increase in domestic exports and the development of industries, various proposals and strategies for the promotion of an export-oriented economy were discussed in detail.
In the high-level meeting of the Prime Minister, the relevant officials briefed the Prime Minister on the policy draft prepared to increase domestic exports.
Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the export-oriented industry is indispensable for the country’s development, economic stability and creation of employment opportunities.
He clarified that the government’s entire focus is on increasing exports, providing facilities to industries and providing a better investment environment.
The Prime Minister directed the preparation of a comprehensive action plan to provide special government facilities to small and medium enterprises, which can play an important role in the country’s exports, and to formulate an effective strategy for the promotion of new businesses and industries that will help increase the demand for Pakistani products in the global market.
He said that research and development, modern technology in the domestic industry and trade can play a key role in making Pakistani products competitive in the global market.
He also issued instructions to exporters to ensure the timely payment of tax refunds so that industrialists and exporters do not face financial difficulties and export activities can be further accelerated.
