Govt Notifies New GPF Deduction Rates for Federal Employees BPS-1 to 22 After 2026 Pay Scale Revision

PESHAWAR: The Ministry of Finance has revised the monthly General Provident Fund, GPF, deduction rates for federal government employees from BPS-1 to BPS-22 following the implementation of the Basic Pay Scales 2026.

Under the new rates, the minimum deduction for BPS-1 employees will be Rs 722 per month, while BPS-22 officers will contribute Rs 17,605 per month to GPF.

According to the Finance Ministry, GPF deductions have been set at:
-3% of average basic pay for BPS-1
– 5% of average basic pay for BPS-2 to BPS-11
– 8% of average basic pay* for BPS-12 to BPS-22

The new monthly GPF rates are based on the revised average basic salaries under the 2026 pay scales.

The Finance Ministry said the revised GPF deductions will be applied starting with the August 2026 salary, and the amount will be payable on September 1, 2026.

Officials said the revision is linked to the new basic pay scales for 2026 and aims to align GPF contributions with updated salary structures.
