The federal government has claimed that sufficient import of petroleum products for March and April has been ensured, while the stock of petrol and diesel in the country is satisfactory.
A meeting of the Cabinet Committee, chaired by the Finance Minister, was held to review the energy supply situation and global trends in Pakistan due to the war in the Middle East. The meeting, chaired by the Finance Minister, was informed that cooperation with friendly countries, including Saudi Arabia, is ongoing for oil supply.
The meeting was informed that the stock of petrol and diesel in the country is satisfactory. The supply chain is completely stable. Petrol imports for March and April have also been ensured. While refineries are continuing production as usual.
It was informed in the briefing that a close watch is being kept on oil prices in the global market. The government is reviewing the difference between global and local prices. Precautionary measures are being taken to avoid disruption in the energy supply. Cooperation with friendly countries, including Saudi Arabia, is ongoing for oil supply.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed his determination to ensure an uninterrupted supply of petrol at all costs. He said energy security and market stability are the top priorities of the government.
