ISLAMABAD: Government has taken a big decision against people affiliated with Joints Awami Action Committee, fundraisers and facilitators of the organization.

Crackdown has been launched against these persons across the country on the basis of affiliation with banned organization. According to official sources, complete details of properties of persons belonging to the banned organization in other cities of Pakistan have been sought. The concerned authorities have been directed to compile and submit an immediate report of the lands, houses, shops and other assets in the name of the accused. Identity cards, passports and bank accounts frozen

Under the decision, an order has been issued to immediately freeze the computerized national identity cards, CNIC, passports and bank accounts of individuals, donors and facilitators associated with the banned action committee. The aim of this measure is to stop the provision of financial resources to the organization and make the network of facilitators ineffective.

Security sources said that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against elements involved in financing and facilitating banned organizations. Law enforcement agencies are monitoring all persons who are directly or indirectly helping the banned organization.

According to officials, the process of confiscation of properties will also be started after receipt of details. Along with this, the transaction history of the frozen bank accounts will be scrutinized to reach the sources of funding.
