A horrific fire suddenly broke out in Sabzi Mandi and Landa Bazaar near Rawat Main Stop in Rawalpindi, which engulfed the entire market in an instant.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire is so intense that its high flames and clouds of smoke are clearly visible from afar, due to which severe panic has spread in the area.
Eyewitnesses present in the market say that the initial cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit. Due to the presence of clothes and other flammable materials in Landa Bazaar, the fire took a horrific shape very quickly and engulfed several stalls and shops. Shopkeepers tried to move valuables to safe places on their own, but several shops were burnt to ashes.
Considering the intensity and spread of the fire, more fire fighters and Rescue 1122 teams are also likely to be called to save the wooden market and other parts of the vegetable market from further damage.
Currently, no casualties have been reported in the incident; however, there is a fear of massive financial loss. More details are awaited.
