PESHAWAR: A foreign woman was rescued in Bara, Khyber district after police responded to reports of alleged domestic violence at a private residence.
According to Dr. Mian Saeed, Senior Superintendent of Police (CCPO), police from Khyber Police carried out an operation on June 18 following a credible report about abuse of a woman at a private house in Bara tehsil of the district.
It is stated by the officials that the woman who is a French national had been living in the district since 2014 after marriage to a Pakistani national.
It is reported that the woman had been suffering abuse by her husband for quite some time and had not been allowed to move out of the house.
The woman has been secured through the operation and has been taken into protective custody. It is yet to be disclosed by the officials regarding her present health status or any injury marks on her body.
