KOHAT: At least four women, including a six-year-old girl, were killed and 10 others injured after the roof of a house collapsed during heavy rain and strong winds in the Malagin area of Lachi Tehsil in Kohat, rescue officials said.
According to rescue sources, 14 people, including women and children, were trapped under the debris when the house caved in amid the severe storm.
The bodies of four women including the six-year-old girl were retrieved from the ruins and transferred to the nearest hospital.
While the victims who were rescued from the ruins included two girls aged three and four, one boy of age four, women and other family members got admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Local sources said that there was a family gathering at the house when the storm occurred and resulted in the collapse of the house.
The rescue operation was finished after all the people trapped inside the ruins were brought to safety or retrieved.
