SWABI:Heavy flooding has hit Swabi district after torrential rains, with water entering several homes and roads going underwater.

‎Local officials said that due to the sudden surge in water levels, multiple residential areas were inundated. Streets turned into streams as rainwater and runoff overwhelmed the drainage system, making movement difficult for residents.

‎Rescue teams and local administration have reached the affected areas to assess the damage. Work is underway to drain the water and provide relief to families whose homes have been flooded.

‎The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain and windstorms in upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the weekend. NDMA has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in flood-prone areas.

‎Swabi is one of the flood-prone districts in central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It sits between the Kabul River and several seasonal streams that swell quickly during monsoon rains.
