RAWALPINDI: A sudden fire broke out in a metro bus at the Sixth Road location, due to which the movement of buses on the metro track was temporarily suspended.
According to the administration, the metro bus was going from Islamabad to Rawalpindi, and fortunately, the bus was empty, due to which no one was injured. According to initial information, the fire broke out in the bus engine, which engulfed the entire bus on the spot.
As soon as the incident was reported, technical staff and rescue teams reached the spot, while efforts are underway to control the fire. The Metro Bus administration says that an investigation has also been launched to find out the reasons for the incident.
Official reports from the Metro Bus Authority and rescue services confirmed that the incident was triggered by a mechanical fault linked to the engine components and the silencer at the rear of the vehicle.
