The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 by 16 days, setting the new deadline at October 31.

According to a statement issued by the FBR, the extension provides additional time to taxpayers who were previously required to submit their income tax returns by October 15.

The decision was made in response to requests from various trade organisations and tax bar associations seeking an extension in the filing deadline.

The extension aims to facilitate taxpayers by allowing them additional time to complete and submit their income tax returns.
